The 1st BOEING 737 and the last BOEING 787. Runway and takeoff acceleration. Raw physics.

We often go through some real-life problems with my math and physics students. One of the interesting topics is aviation. How do airplanes accelerate? How long should the runways be? What is the difference of various engines thrust? These questions and many others really attract students attention.

Today let’s solve a simple problem of calculation acceleration on a runway. We’ll compare the very firts Boeing 737-100 and the very last Boeing 787-10. Here is this short video explanation.

So, you see that accelerations are quite the same!

In the next articles well dive more into this topic and discuss why do we need similar numbers here and why real acceleration we experience is a bit less than this one. Okay.

Wish you success in your stidies!
